Sounds In The Night

3:05 a.m.
Most commonly 3am is thought of as the famous "Dead Time" by most paranormal investigators. Others claim it might be 12am or 4am, but I'm getting sidetracked. Regardless of whether or not 3am is Dead Time, some strange things started happening not long after the clock changed.
In the house where I and my husband live there is a window just above the foot of our bed. Outside this window is nothing, simply a six foot drop to the concrete steps and walkway below.

The first strange thing, was just as we were going to bed. It sounded as if someone had taken a seven inch piece of PVC pipe and rolled them across the walkway, only louder. Naturally it took us about two seconds to get to the window to see what had happened, only to see nothing out of place.
This was followed by a series of shorter lasting sounds coming from the walkway as we watched.

After this it seemed everything was quiet and back to normal, however we stayed awake just in case. After an hour or so it seemed nothing else would happened and we settled back down to go to sleep.
We were quite wrong. At 5am there was a huge crash that seemed level with the window. It was loud enough and violent enough that it shook the bed and bookshelves that lined the wall. It was followed an instant later by what I can only describe as dull bear claws raking across the glass of the window.

This morning of course we searched for anything that could have made the sounds. We tried for a long time throwing things off of the back balcony and scratching things against our window.
However....nothing we did recreated the sound at all.

We'll be keeping watch tonight with cameras and digital recorders.
